PROJECT CONNECT |
| Goals |
| Connected Community Partnership designed and implemented the Project Connect program to connect students, teachers and parents using technology. The goals of this program are: |
Close the digital divide |
Prepare students to be better learners, workers and communicators in today's society |
Improve communication between teachers, parents and students |
| Implement the Lessons Learned |
| A survey of parents indicated that almost 80% of the children whose families received computers are using them and the Internet to complete assignments at home. Over 170 teachers created web sites and used e-mail as a means of communicating with families. Greater than 60% of the families reported visiting teachers' websites to get important information. Nearly 100% of the parents use the computers themselves. They report that they are more comfortable with the technology but would like more opportunities to learn about computer use.
